New Tech Tips Page While not a new product, it is a new page for the web site, and one that is updated each month - introducing: "Tech Tips". This section will give you tips to trouble shooting, alerts on problem solving, and modifications to increase the use from your Ranger radio. (No, we don't mean the illegal kind.) On this page are some of the tips that the technicians at Ranger thought you might be able to use and some that you might enjoy having, and new ones are added every month. Fan Kit
Make your RCI-2990 & 2990DX run cooler. With the new add-on kit, the SRA-2990CF with dual fans, will do just that. This kit mounts to the back of the radio, over the heat sink and finals, and forces air to circulate around them to extend their life.

Echo Mic
Now you can add the Echo feature to the TR-2960F, TR-396F, TR-696F and the new TR-900 Series with the new optional Ranger Echo Mike, model # SRA-117A. For the RCI-2950DX, 2970DX, 2990DX, and the 2995DX use model #SRA-117. This mike will give you complete control of the interval and delay features of Echo, all from the front of the microphone. No rewiring is necessary, simply plug it in and operate.

Replacement Mic
The new replacement microphone is one that you will enjoy. Features like the new thin cord that streches way beyond others and yet returns to retain it's coil, makes this a desired mike. This is a heavy duty microphone that tells you it is durable by the weight, and It feels natural in the hand.
The SRA-117 is available in 3 models: 4-pin straight (SRA-158-4H); 4-pin 90º right angle (SRA-158-R-4H); and 5-pin straight (SRA-158-5H). The SRA-158 should be your next choice in replacement mics.

New CB Radio Series
Ranger introduces 4 new models designed for the rugged requirements of the trucker. Choices include AM (with or without weather channels) or AM/SSB (with or without weather channels). All models feature Roger Beep, variable talk back, and a new voltage fluctuation protection circuitry. Select either model and you won't be dissapointed. New Amateur Radios
Available after May 20, 2002, the new RCI-5054DX-100 is a high powered version of the present 6 meter transceiver. Again, all mode and economical for its power rating. Available November 1, 2001, and completely re-designed internally, the RCI-2980WX rack-mount style unit features a new 6 digit red LED readout, AM-CW-FM-SSB modes of operation, variable power, superior noise filtering and built-in heavy duty AC power supply. A new feature to the series offers the ability to receive signals from your local NOAA Weather Channels insuring that you will have the coverage for your area. The unit will scan all 7 channels and lock in on the strongest signal. Also included is a NOAA Emergency Alert Tone to warn of impending severe weather warnings and conditions. Available November 1, 2001, the new 10 & 12 meter RCI-2995DX offers a re-designed front panel layout. We have removed the Echo and Talk Back features of this radio to bring it into line with what you have told us - you don't like to pay for features that you don't use. On July 1, 2001, Ranger introduced a new base transceiver - the RCI-2985DX. Offering both 10 and 12 meter operation, this model is designed for the economy minded operator who does not want to pay for features not used or wanted. Similar to its big brother, the 2990DX, it also has all the improvements in the receiver design, power supply protection, display and surface mount technology ( SMT ). Ranger introduces a new dual-band mobile radio for the Ham operator. Now offering both 10 and 12 meter operation, the upgraded 2950 also has improvements in the receiver design, power supply protection, and display.
